[RTL] TinyMCE Rich Text Editor Plugin.

I would like to announce that RTL-TinyMCE is done, you can get it here, please note that you need to switch your MODx manager interface to RTL and use the MODxRTL manager theme to get the best performance.

I will be working on Install package of RTL-TinyMCE & FCKEditor as soon as i get some response regarding stability of this package as i have no testers available in other languages except Persian languages users.

Great, I’ll try to test it out this week sometime with Hebrew.

No. I understood that this is a version of TinyMCE optimized for rtl, not that I require to integrate Hebrew language files with it. Perhaps I misunderstood something?

More likely that I did.

I’m sure you can get the Hebrew language strings for various TinyMCE plugins [s]here & adopt them into various language files for use within TinyMCE here in MODx.[/s]

FYI, I’m going to work on seeing if I can bundle in support for RTL languages in the latest TinyMCE plugin. I think I already added support for instances of TinyMCE on the front-end (via template variables) but I think I missed it for manager use. I’ll likely make this based on the Manager Text Direction option in the manager configuration. Gonna download and compare what you’ve done with the RTL plugin and integrate it in. Thanks for the work you’ve done. Will definitely help.

Somehow I had gotten the idea that somebody had made up a Hebrew language file for the Manager. Can anyone verify this, or point to where it is if so?

Ouch! Just downloaded and compared the code to the original 2.1.2 plugin. Looks like you hacked the TinyMCE files themselves. No can do on this end. I try at best to leave the TinyMCE files alone and let Moxiecode deal with that end of it.

Question is: What’s is it that the "Manager Text Direction" MODx config option and TinyMCE theme_advanced_toolbar_align option (http://wiki.moxiecode.com/index.php/TinyMCE:Configuration/theme_advanced_toolbar_align) can’t do that requires a significant amount of hacking to fix?

No, no one has done that here in this thread.

I’d like to do it as it will help me a bit (even though I mostly work on English sites) - I’ll be experimenting with the ManagerManager plugin to replace some English words with Hebrew for my current project.

If anyone wants to start a Hebrew translation of the backend of MODx, I can definitely help out with that, not at the level of coding, but translating words/phrases. Not sure what is involved in such an undertaking - I’ll check it out when I clear a backlog of work I have here.
