Greek Translation

Hi,

I noticed there is no Greek language file for modx. I also read this post about a Finish Translation : http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,2420.0.html.
Do I go the same way about translating into Greek? I don’t
know if there is someone already involved with translating modx to greek but modx seems so
good and so cool to be left out of the greek community

There will be a few new language strings added to the 0962 release, so it might be a good idea to base it off those files. There’s also a very cool new translation helper script that stubs out a language file for you if you decide to jump in now (starting with 0961) and then use the translation tool for the final 0962 release as needed.

I just downloaded MODx 096 translation kit and I am getting down to work.
Hopefully, it won’t take me long to give something back.

Just note that the translation pack was made for MODx0.9.6 and its now a year old, Since there was an update either in version & so to language files, Please get the latest stable MODx release (Currently: 0.9.6.1p) and replace the newer language files based on the MODx0.9.6 language files path. take a shot of translating that too, if I have the time.

All the best nick_k, the main language file for manager section is much effort taking than the others, took me a month to make it translate but the only hope of getting it done was these translations like MaxiGallery etc... that makes you familiarize more with speaking MODx :-]

Please, share with us the Greek translation if you like.

I am including the file that lives under manager\includes\lang.
I have only translated 2 pages of that file because I have been too busy and
don’t have the time to do more.
Perhaps someone else could take over and finish the rest.
By the way, I have noticed that a number of so called greek web development companies take
an open source solution and pass it along as their completely own solution. (ie joomla)
To them I say:Don’t do that. Don’t be a bunch of pricks. Open source is a collective effort.

@Nick and other Greek MODx users:

I’m looking for one or two co-translators to port MaxiGallery to Greek.

I would provide up to 50% of the translation effort.
Once translated, the language file would be given to the community.
