An image ordering problem...
Okay - I’m using smoothgallery with the zoom configuration. Everything is working fine except for the order the images are being displayed. They images in the relevant gallery are named something like image1, image2, image3, etc. There are 12 in all. And their ID are also in ascending order (something like 23, 24, 25, etc.).
The first time I noticed a problem was when the first and second images were shown in reverse order. I cleared the site cache, the gallery cache, checked to make sure the gallery id was correct as well as the image ids. Everything seemed fine. Nevertheless, I deleted the images and reuploaded, making sure they were sent up in the order I wanted them displayed. This time, the image that was supposed to be second showed up in fourth and vice-versa. The first image was okay.
The image ids are all in ascending order, although not starting at "1".
Is there something I’m missing? Can I force these to be displayed in some order (I tried &order=`ASC` but that had no effect).
Any help would be appreciated!
Matt

@mconsidine,
order depends on 2 ways:
- your explicit snippet call
- your module’s setting: Menu > Config > Thumbnails > Display settings
So check those first.
It might turn out that the &order=`ASC` is applied to &orderby=`date_added` or else.

@goldsky : thanks. Both the thumbnails and slideshow sort settings default to time created. But when I looked at the timestamps of the thumbnails I see that they were created in the order they are showing up in the gallery. That is, for whatever reason, their timestamps are a slightly different order than which the main images were uploaded.
Wouldn’t it be better to use the time stamp/order of the images uploaded rather than the creation time of the thumbnails? In the case I looked at, images were uploaded in order 1,2,3,4 but the timestamps of thumbnails/resized images were in order 1,4,3,2 (thumbnail image #2 was 1 second later in being created.)
Anyway, that seems to be the root of the confusion. Changing the sort preference to filename should take care of it in anycase.
Thanks!
Matt

&orderby applies to all the existing field names, so &orderby=`filename` should work.

Hi,
I have installed Easy2 on several MODX installations by now, it works really great.
For a reason, today I installed MODX onto other server and tried to install Easy2 module and after clicking the Easy2Gallery tab inside the Modules,
a blank page is showing up, instead of the usual module’s panel install content.
What shall be?
Thanks,
Alex
