ZIP Upload doesn't work

The zip upload function in Gallery doesn’t work. The files do appear in assets/components/gallery/files/*ALBUMID*/ after uploading a .zip with a number of pictures, but they don’t appear in the backend. I looked in to the gallery tables with phpMyAdmin, but the files are not inserted in the tables. I think this is the problem. I tried a number of zip files with images.

I found the solution for this problem. You have to zip a folder. So if you have 10 images, place them in a folder and zip that folder. If you just zip the 10 images, it won’t work.

I’ve already reported this as an issue at https://github.com/splittingred/Gallery/issues/94. Very annoying in my opinion. You should be able to just zip images. A folder shouldn’t be required.

I can’t get the zip upload to work, it just hangs with the "Please wait saving" bar going repeatedly.
Any ideas?

Hi, any ideas on this? I'm still having this problem. There's nothing in the error log but I'm guessing it could be file permissions on a directory or something misconfigured in the gallery system settings (although I haven't changed any of these)

(edit) Just discovered the multi-upload facility which is working really nicely so the zip issue is no longer a big deal

This is also not working for me (Gallery 1.5.2, Revo 2.2.7). I've changed the core setting for uploading files to 40 Mb. The zip I try to upload is about 21 Mb. Maybe my hosting provider does not allow me to change the max upload filesize. I will oook into that in a week or so.
