      Edit :

Jason, I looked a 3 different installations of MODx and didn’t find site_sessionname in the modx_system_settings...

David, first, you’re only looking at the first page of results from that table; check the other pages; and second, the name of the system setting is actually site_id

I have installed MODx 0.9.2 on my local pc, and I want now to update my homepage. Do I have to just overwrite all files and database than go throught the update script? Is that enough?

          Thank you!

          • Backup at least your database first! Then make sure you’ve backed up at least your database!!! (it doesn’t hurt to backup your /manager/includes/config.inc.php file, and any templates and images you have in the /assets folder, although they shouldn’t be touched).

Upload the new files. Run the Install script; make sure you clear the buttons for installing/upgrading the snippets and plugins when that page comes up. That should be all you need to do.

So far I’ve upgraded three sites without a hiccup, although I did need to change a few permissions.

Make sure to change the config.inc.php file’s permissions back to read-only when you’re finished.
