    Hello, I am new to all of this CMS web sit stuff. I got ModX because it looked the best. I have downloaded the Plastic template from here. I uploaded all correctly I think. Now how do I make it the default template so everyone will see it when they come?

    Thanks

      Hi and Welcome

      1) Copy and paste code in a new template .

      2) Go to system settings > Miscellaneous settings> Default template

      note: set ’Reset all pages to use Default template’ to change template in all pages

        Thanks for your help, I found out how to change it, but I only see default and ModX. I guess I didn’t upload it right. The zip file contained the following files:

        Footertext-Chunk.html
        plastic-template.html
        plastic.jpeg

        assets -> templates -> plastic ->

        site.css

        imgs ->

        11 image files

        I put the following files in the root directory where ModX is:

        • Footertext-Chunk.html
        • plastic-template.html
        • plastic.jpeg

        Then I opened to the templates folder in the site and copied the "plastic" folder into it.

        That is all I did. Did I do it correctly? I would guess not since the template is not showing up.

        Thanks,

        • You need to open the plastic-template.html file in a text editor. Log in to Manager, and create a new template by copy/pasting the text from the plastic-template.html file. Also create a new chunk with the text from the footertext-chunk.html file. Then go to the site administration menu and change the default template.

              ..and you don’t need to upload plastic.jpg - it’s only a screenshot/thumbnail of template wink
