I’ve set up MaxiGallery to generate square thumbs with phpthumb via the following instructions:

The thumbnail generation works well but i am quite unimpressed with the performance of the phpthumb script when it comes to displaying cached thumbs. Even when cached it seems that the script itself takes a while for checking a thus causing a noticeable delay.

It seems like a nice solution. Has anyone ever adapted this to work for the MODx setup and MaxiGallery?
