First time I’ve tried to use MaxiGallery.
I’ve followed the installation instructions, and have got the ’Manage Pictures’ button on my page where I’ve called it. When I click this button (yes, I am logged in) its just kinds of loads, but stays on the same page?! I presume it should go to some sort of image gallery page? Well it just stays on the same page and stops loading. Weird.
Anybody know how I might be able to get this working?

If you are getting the all important Manage Pictures button then you should be pretty much there.
When you click this button you stay on the same page. Scroll down and you should see a system that will allow you to navigate and upload photos one at a time. You first select the photos (repeat for each image) and then hit the upload images button at the bottom. This brings the images into the correct folder for the MaxiGallery to work. You then save the page and hit "return to normal view."
Hopefully you installed the MaxiGallery pieces correctly. Take a look at the archive MaxiGallery archive folder you downloaded. Inside that there is a folder called "assets" and inside that folder are two child folders called "galleries" and "snippets". The "galleries" folder needs to be copied into your site’s "assets" folder. It sounds like you have placed the "maxigallery" folder from the downloaded archive (/assets/snippets/maxigallery) into your site’s structure correctly. You would not get the important "Manage Pictures" button if this folder structure was installed incorrectly...
