MaxiGallery uploading images!

Hi

I’m very new to Modx so go easy with me please!

I’ve set up the Maxigallery as per the instructions on the wiki.

I can see the manage images button on the browser... I can click it and browse for images... select images but then when I click the UPLOAD it takes a minute as you’d expect but returns with a scary message. I have the CHMOD set to 777.

well, i’m not a superstar like you search for... :p
but, did you set the CHMOD too all children folders as well?

I dont even think its making the child directories.. when I look on ftp in this path... /web/modxcms.webdesignercornwall.com/assets/galleries there is only an index.html file.

Maybe I’m completely missing the point here maybe the images are stored on the database.

Anyway I’ve changed the CHMOD on the galleries directory(/web/modxcms.webdesignercornwall.com/assets/galleries) to all contents included in it to 0777.

Still no joy.. I’m so close yet so far I’ve spent hours on this!

PS love your signature Modx is great but knowing how to use it makes it perfect!

Try this:
Type the number, 777, don’t use check box.

There was similar issue like this before.

I’m using Fire FTP i’ve tried it by ticking and by typing 777 and also 0777

OK I GOT IT TO WORK!!

But its a bit rubbish because I manually created the directory via FTP.. was I meant to do this anyway - if so I’m so sorry for wasting your time.

What does this mean..?? is there some larger server setting set by my host that supercedes my CHMOD on that directory...?? but that cant be right because I’ve CHMOD on other directories on install to get that to work...?? I use bravenet(paid for I might add

This solution isnt perfect as I want it to be a proper CMS for my client so they shouldnt have to worry about FTPing and creating folders... although I suppose I could create lots of directories in the galleries file...

Heres the page as you can see I really am just beginnning.. LOL http://modxcms.webdesignercornwall.com/index.php?id=1 I have made other pages but thought it best to test the gallery in the standard MODX starter file.

So I had it working...

Until I tried following the wiki to display the child galleries on the parent page... it displays nothing. I’m starting from scratch and getting the error again... I been doing this for a whole day now it 9pm here.. I might give up for tonight before I smash my imac.

Ok.... now its working... and its even displaying the images in lightbox(i’ve used this loads before on other sites) is this the default...

I know I’m going way off topic here.. sorry last post.
