I am new to Maxigallery and would like to know if there is any way in which I can use maxigallery to display images from my custom database table. The table contains the pictures’ location information in addition to other information like picture description, etc.
I would like maxigallery to take the pictures that are selected as a result of an sql query run on a particular field in my custom db. The query will return filenames (along with location information) for the pictures I want to display.

Nope, it’s not possible.. you’d need to do alot of modifying to MaxiGallery’s code.
I think there are some table browsing snippets done for MODx. Try to find one that uses templates and use phx:phpThumb for example to modify your images in to various sizes in the snippet templates.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was interested in using maxigallery as it provides a lot of options for displaying images.
One more question for my clarification. I thought a lot of sites out there might have images in their custom database, so maxigallery can’t be used for any of them. For eg. lets say I want to design a website for a shop that has products in different category(eg. electronics, apparel, footwear etc). Now all this information is stored in a database.So my question is that if I intend to use maxigallery for the website do I have to create documents for each product? Is there no way to make use of the existing database?
