MG as complete image management for news blog

Hi folks!

Been using MG for years now - and I still love it

Now I have come up with an idea. I want to achieve the following output:

<my news page>
HEADLINE
some text <img thumb 250px float=right>
some text lines
some text lines
some text lines
<img thumb 250px float=left> some text
some more text lines
<gallery with more pics, thumbs 100px>
comments section
</my news page>

I hope you get my point. I want all of the pics to be managed with MG. Any suggestions?

You can query single pictures from maxigallery with their picture ID’s via &pic_query_ids parameter.

To get different sizes from the uploaded picures, I would advice to use maxigallery to only upload the pictures in some general (biggest) size and then use phpThumb in maxigallery templates to generate what ever size picture you need.

So for the first two 250px pictures, you would use &pic_query_ids parameter and then all the pictures after the text lines with another maxigallery snippet call.

Be sure to use manage_target and is_target paramters for the picture management, so it doesn’t break when you have multiple calls on the same page.
