Okay I posted this thread in another forum on modxcms.com, and asked for that thread to be moved to this forum, but nothing has been done about it, so I have created this thread here. I am hoping for an answer pretty soon.
Anyway here is my query: I am just wondering if it is possible for a website user to click on the gallery group (for example: Deb’s photos), then to go to that group of photos, instead of clicking on each photo at the start of the gallery?

And yes, it’s possible. Just create a custom template where you make the link from the image to be:

Like I said, you need to create a custom template to your snippet call.
If you are displaying childgalleries, you want to create a custom childgalleryTpl.
Probably with something like this in your custom template:
