MaxiGallery "Manage Pictures" button

Is the "Manage Pictures" button only available when editing from the front end, because I can’t see it anywhere in the Manager

You can use the ManagerManager package to get the maxigallery picture management in backend. Read the FAQ stuff from here. There’s a link to a thread about managermanager.
