Manager and Gallery on same page

Is it possible to have the manager and gallery on the same page, so if I login, I will see the manager but if I am logged out I will see the gallery if I go to the same url.

Do you mean that if logged in, it would go straight to picture management always? Because by default the picture management and gallery viewing is on same page / url always.

If you do mean, that when logged in, it would go automatically to picture management, eg. users wouldn’t have to click ’manage pictures’ button, you could try to do it with &manage_gallery parameter..

Do a snippet or use PHx to check if user is logged in. If he isn’t, call maxigallery normally, eg. something like:

[[MaxiGallery? &max_pic_size=`700`]]

Then if user is logged in, add the &manage_gallery parameter in the snippet call so it should go straight to picture management, like:

[[MaxiGallery? &max_pic_size=`700` &manage_gallery=`[*id*]`]]

Should do it.. try.

Thanks for your reply doze, I realize now that by default it does what i want but another problem has risen, the call won’t take the max_thumb_size or max_pic_size parameters I enter in my snippet call, it is ignoring them and using the default. I checked the code but could not find the reason why this is happening.

The snippet above is the one I am using but the sizes and qualities get ignored.

You need to re-upload the images when you change the parameters that affect pictures. Picture resizing is done on upload.

Hi doze, that is what I have been doing but it doesn’t accept the parameters i set. I had to make the changes in the maxigallery.php file even thought I don’t really like modifying the core of a plugin. Any thoughts let me know please.

I’m not sure why you have &view_gallery=`[*id*]` in your snippet call?

If you have calls on multiple documents and you are accessing the picture management from separate documents, make sure that all the calls have the same parameters.. It seems that there’s something wrong in your gallery setup.

Also, if you have more than one call on a document, you need to make the picture management on a separate documents using &manage_target and &is_target parameters..

hi doze, you are right I had 2 snippet calls on the same page even though I was hiding one with html but the call was still there so now i removed it, all is working well.
