Newbie installation gone wrong?

MODx, MG & PHP first timer here, so go easy ...

have installed MG, set caching off as advised, and edited pages after unchecking use RTE, but can I just check ... I FTP’d the maxigallery folder into assets/snippets and I put the galleries folder into assets - right?

How about the PictureManager side - where is this supposed to be in ManagerManager? I don’t see it anywhere.

And finally, my galleries don’t appear - just the MG calls as the page content.

So, all pointing to to something wrong with the install, but not sure how it’s supposed to look.

First thing I see in the source of the page is the "&" has been changed to "&" in your snippet calls by the rich text editor in the manager. Open the page which has your snippet call in edit, uncheck RTE, save and then edit again (changing & to & in the snippet params), save again.

Once the snippet actually works and you are logged in to the manager and visit that page, you should see the Manage button.

Rich text editor turned off and ’&amp’ now changed to ’&’ but still no luck.

Also with rich text editor off, when I enter the parms supplied of [!MaxiGallery? &display=`childgalleries`!], if you view the source, how come these get changed to [[MaxiGallery? &display=`childgalleries`]] ?

Starting to wonder if MODx is for me, might have to try Drupal instead :-(

It sounds like you’re looking at a cached version of your page. Try clearing the MODx site cache and your browser cache.
