Is it possible to use MaxiGallery to display text or a docutment? I have a link on my page that opens up a lightbox window and displays an html document. When I added Maxigallery to the page it cancelled out the lightbox and now I’m not sure how to accomplish this.

The other lightbox probably stopped working, because when you added maxigallery with another lightbox script to the same page, you got JS collisions. You can read more about this

What you can do is change maxigallery to use the same lightbox script that you are already using by doing a custom galleryPictureTpl and generate the thumbnail links as how your existing lightbox script wants them. Then call maxigallery with your custom galleryPictureTpl without embedded display type, so that maxigallery won’t add the javascripts to your page (as they already are there, included by you manually).

So because I’m not too familiar with MaxiGallery yet, would it just be easier to use a different method? Is there any functionality for using MG to display non image content?
UPDATE: I’m not opposed to putting in the leg work I’m just worried about losing the slimbox functionality or not having the correct ver. of lightbox, etc. Basically I don’t want to mess MG up just for this popup link.

MaxiGallery can only show images that are uploaded through it. Nothing more.
The only option is to configure maxigallery to use your existing lightbox script. It’s not hard at all, take a look at maxigallery wiki page and the thickbox integration there.
