[SOLVED] HELP!!! Error KB927917 in IE8: Unable to modify the parent container...

    Hey all,

    I am getting this error in IE8 when accessing a Maxigallery picture gallery:

    "Error KB927917 in IE8: Unable to modify the parent container element before the child element is closed"

    The content on the screen differs every time I press refresh... sometimes it only show the banner on top of the page, sometimes the menu, and sometimes it show no eror at all and everything is perfect...

    My code validates XHTML 4.01... There is no error in IE7 nor in FF.

        FF 3.5/Mac here, and Safari 4.0.2. Both work fine

          i’m not a very experienced web programmer... could you explain how an error can appear SOMEtimes, and not ALL the time?

            Probably some bug in the slimbox version that MaxiGallery uses. I couldn’t access the page with IE8 either.

            Try to some other embed type such as lightboxv2, Fancybox or instead of slimbox.

            Lightbox v2 is integrated in MaxiGallery. Wiki page has instructions on how to set up ThickBox and for FancyBox look here.

              thank you Doze.

              i used LightboxV2 instead of Slimbox and it doesn’t give me the error anymore. It loads properly in IE8 all the time.

                i’m having the same error and i can’t figure out what is wrong.

                i’m using dreamweaver and it’s compatibility checker reports no errors. my page loads in every browser except IE!!!

                i know that when i add my fireworks html to the page, it creates this error (only in IE), but i can’t figure out how to fix it. the fireworks html is for my navigation bar.

                WHAT’S EVEN MORE STRANGE IS THE IE LOADS THE PAGE CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME AFTER CLOSING AND REOPENING THE BROWSER, BUT WHEN YOU HIT REFRESH, THE PAGE MISLOADS...ERRORS!!!!
