How Do I hide the Manage Pictures Button?

Hey guys.

I’m using MaxiGallery smoothgallery to display some images here.

I want to hide the manage pictures button from normal users and only make it accessible for admins logged in at the front end who are part of the "admin" webgroup.

I’ve found the &admin_webgroups and the &admin_webusers calls, as well as the &manager_webgroups and the &manager_webusers calls, but I can’t seem to use them properly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are using single quotes in the &manager_webgroups parameter and not back ticks, eg. change ’ to --> `

Also if you really want to use RTE on the document, put the snippet call in a chunk and call the chunk on the document so that the ampersands don’t get translated to html entities.

And if you don’t still get it working, start with a simpler snippet call with just &manager_webgroups parameter and get the manage button working first.

Okay, I fixed the backticks and put it in a chunk, and it still works the same way. I also tried this like you suggested, but that doesn’t hide the button either.

The link above doesn’t work (redirects to 404 page). Probably unpublished or not public..

In any case, how do you test that is the manage pictures button available to all or just certain users? If you are logged in to back end and have editing rights to the document, you will always see the manage pictures button.

So you need to logout from back end, then log in to front end with some webuser account.
