MaxiGallery, child galleries and page titles

hi there,

Firstly can I say what a fab cms MODx is, I’ve been using it for the last year or so and built a couple of sites on it and have 2 set to go live this week. Its great

Secondly, whilst I have been lurking for a while now I need to finally come onboard and make my first post and unforuntaly its a question. I have read through as many topics
as I can cause I know I shouldn’t start one without checking first. But apologies if this has been answered already and I just couldn’t find it.

Basically my problem is this..

I hope to have one to many galleries set up off the root gallery folder which is here

I can grab the thumnails of them fine, but if I want to display the gallery name underneath the thumbnails it doesn’t seem to like it.

Is it possible to do this?

For example the first 4 thumbnails are from the 25th anniversary celebrations so I would like to display that as a title underneath over over the thumbs and link to that gallery.

Any help much appreciated

So.. you are asking how to get the gallery document title in childgallery template or what? If that’s the case, here’s the placeholders you can use in childgalleryTpl:

Do a custom childgalleryTpl based on the existing one and modify it any way you want. Then define your custom template in MaxiGallery snippet call.

and slightly morto now..checked out the link and also checked the call I was making and I was using gal_query_ids instead of &childgalleries_ids.
