    Hi,

Just playing with TV’s and have worked out how to use them. I’ve got 3 tv’s for a template I use which allows the user to enter an image, a date, and a url for each page.

What if instead of the tv’s being used for each new document, I want several (4 for example) instances of those 3 tv’s on one page. So my page would look something like this:

    Main content

    Image (tv1)
    Date (tv2)
    url (tv3)

    Image (tv1)
    Date (tv2)
    url (tv3)

    Image (tv1)
    Date (tv2)
    url (tv3)

    Image (tv1)
    Date (tv2)
    url (tv3)

Anyone know how I’d approach that?

    • Do you mean the same image, date, and url displayed in four different places on the same page? In that case, simply put the TV tags in all of the places you want it to appear. Probably even better to make a chunk and put the three TVs in the chunk. Then place the chunk tags where you want them.

No, but I see why you might think that . . . I didn’t explain properly.

What I mean to say is that I want a different image, date and url. So there’ll be four images each with their own date and url.

I can only get this to work if I have 4 seperate documents each with one instance of tv1, tv2, tv3. I want there to be four instances (each different) on just one document.

        Any ideas?

          why not create more tv’s?

instead of tv 1,2,3 go on and make 4,5,6 and 7,8,9 and 10,11,12
that would do the trick would it not?

there is no limit (as fare as I know ) on how many tv’s you want to asign to a document.
I once made a template out of tv’s all images and text fields and even the layout was made using tv’s I think I had 24 tv’s.

          • You could make up four documents, each with your original TVs edited as desired, then use NewsListing to display them. I used this method to generate this menu:

That’s precisely what I did but didn’t know if there was a "cleaner" way of doing it.
