Help With Parameters

I have installed and did a few tutorials on Maxigallery to get a feel for it.

I seem to be having some issues with parameters after following the tutorial on the Wiki for having a main image and thumbnails on the same page. I have that page working in the basic form, but now I want to create thumbs with a drop shadow and change the image sizes.

When I put in the parameters I wanted I was getting the chmod error. I was able to fix that by following another post I found. Now when I upload even with the parameters it looks like they are ignored and I am just getting a regular thumbnail. Is it possible I am putting the parameters in the wrong place? The snippet calls I am using are from the tutorial from the Wiki.

I put the parameters I wanted in the call for the thumbs. I can get everything to upload fine, it just doesn’t add a drop shadow or background color etc...

First, you need to use & instead of $amp; (turn off the rich text editor -- it’s translating the ampersands).

Also, I think you need &thumb_use_dropshadow=`1` and maybe &thumb_use_imagemask=`1` in your snippet call. You’ll need to re-upload the images.

When I add &thumb_use_dropshadow=`1` and re-upload an image I still don’t get a drop shadow. When I added the &thumb_use_dropshadow before I would get an error, but now that part is fixed it seems to just be ignoring anything I put in the call.



In the simple example from the Wiki everything works fine, but that doesn’t work for my needs since I am trying to get the main image and thumbs on the same page.

This is kind of a wild guess, but did you clear the MODx cache and your browser cache before uploading?  You might have uploaded through an older version of the page.

I just cleared both, same result.

Hmm.. so which call you are using to upload the pictures?

If you have those calls in a single document, you shouldn’t be able to even upload pictures through picture management, as it would show the management from both documents and mess things up. You should be using another document for the uploading, Eg. have all the picture size and shadow etc parameters there with &is_target=`1` and use &manage_target parameter those above calls to redirect the picture management to that separate document.

I hid the management in the first call with.

I was thinking I might have to set up a new document to do uploading, but I wasn’t quite sure how to do that.

After figuring out how things work in Maxigallery I have actually moved on from this and am using MG to call smoothgallery now. I am pretty happy with the results and still have a little more learning to do!

Applying http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,21619.msg134052.html#msg134052
and changing all chmods 0666->0644 | 0777->0755 in MG php-files and galleries folders/pics on ftp-server,
helped me running multiple calls (+hiding managment with @CODE:) and still upload through the same document.
