Maxigallery custom thumbs problem

How can I get maxigallery to output thumbs with text on top like this: http://www.squarespace.com/examples/

Which files do I need to edit to change the default output of maxigallery thumbs?

Also is there a thread somewhere about having maxigallery manager in the manager? Did that ever get solved?

That’s done with css styling. You need to make an element to float on top of the thumbnails. Try to google for an example of such layout, I don’t unfortunately have the time to help more.

You don’t have to edit any files, you can do a custom template based on the original one. The original template for rendering thumbnails is galleryPictureTpl. From maxigallery wiki page you will find info how to define your custom template.

Thanks doze, that was very helpful but I have decided not to try this myself after looking at the template code. I posted up a bounty with these requests and I hope someone can quickly take care of them for me.
