Carousel Advice Seeked

A client of mine wants a Dynamic Carousel instead of the existing MaxiGallery page.

I am starting to research it, but wondered if somebody has already done this.

Maxigallery uses prototype/scriptaculous, can I use jQuery to do the Carousel?
Any easy way to tie it into Maxi  so that the management is still made in Maxi?

EDIT: Nevermind, I should read more before asking a question, I will use Smoothgallery
which comes as an embed option of MaxiGallery
