Just a quick question:
I have some clients who are complaining that they’re getting a PHP illegal pointer offset error when trying to upload jpg images that they’ve processed in Picasa (see sample error below). I’m not with them now so I haven’t tried to figure out exactly what might be going on, but if I resave these images with higher compression in Gimp they then work fine. So I’m assuming that Picasa is creating some sort of non-standard .jpg files and that’s the problem.
So the question is: Does anyone here have experience with Picasa and MaxiGallery, and if so do you have any guidance or a workaround for using the two together?

You can remove that exif data reading from maxigallery code.. it is used for just to get the time of the image capture and use that for the date.. just remove that bit of code and the upload time will be used.
It seems that picasa puts something to the EXIF data that your php version cannot read, it could possibly work with a newer php version..

Probably different problem, But FWIW
I had some log errors from MaxiGallery regarding _date_ time ago.
After adding this to my php.ini
[Date]
; Defines the default timezone used by the date functions
date.timezone = America/Los_Angeles
I had no more problems.
