[Solved] Slideshow on homepage

Hi, I’m using Maxigallery for the first time. I would like to find out...how do I enable a slideshow to show on the home page? With fading and captions under each image?

You use the smoothgallery display type, eg. &display=`embedded` &embedtype=`smoothgallery`

Hi doze. I’ve just added it but all it shows are the images I have uploaded

[!MaxiGallery? &display=`embedded` &embedtype=`smoothgallery`!]

I placed this snippet call inside the Gallery 1 page that was in the example.

I can upload images with no problem or errors but the slideshow is not showing. I have not changed the config values as well

Is the page online?

I’m not really following what’s the problem..

Are you viewing the correct document after you have updated the snippet parameters? What is exactly shown? Do you have any js errors? What is the rendered html like? etc...

Thank-you for assisting. Let me be as detailed as possible.

I followed these instructions:
# Create a container in MODx with page title My Galleries
# Check Published on the Page Settings tab
# Put the snippet call [!MaxiGallery? &display=`childgalleries`!] in the document content area and save the document
# Create a new document in the folder with page title Gallery 1
# Check Published on the Page Settings tab
# Put the snippet call [!MaxiGallery? &display=`embedded` &embedtype=`slimbox` &pics_per_row=`3` &max_thumb_size=`110` &max_pic_size=`0` &thumb_use_dropshadow=`1`!] (or another call) in the document content area and save the document

I uploaded the files successfully,

Then I altered the document "Gallery 1" and made snippet call above, it generates thumbnails of the images I uploaded. There is no slideshow.

This is the code generated:

The rendered html code is not what it’s supposed to be for smoothgallery..

It might be that the maxigallery call is somehow malformed. View the snippet call with editor set to none in modx manager and see that it’s ok.

Is smoothgallery the same as Maxigallery?

Unless if my version is very old. I have Maxigallery 0.5.2

I wouldnt make this up

No, smoothgallery is a javascript that you try to use with maxigallery (via the embedtype=`smoothgallery` parameter).

I didn’t mean that you were making up that html..

I was just saying that maxigallery isn’t rendering the smoothgallery output, it’s rendering the default html output.. so it looks like that maxigallery is not receiving the &display=`embedded` and &embedtype=`smoothgallery` parameters.

If you have the call below in the document and you are viewing the same document from frontend and do not see smoothgallery display type and even the rendered html is not what it’s supposed to be, then I don’t know what’s going on. You’d need to put the site online and give me access to check it. But the call should simply be:

[!MaxiGallery? &display=`embedded` &embedtype=`smoothgallery`!]

sorry for not having responded. I’ve been up and about. It did work eventually. I dont know if it was a caching issue or something to do with my system. But the good thing is that it did work.
