[SOLVED] Smoothgallery Not Showing in IE

First off, thanks for any help that you can provide.
I’m trying to get a portfolio together, using Maxigallery, and it works just fine in FF and Safari, but won’t show in IE 6 or 7.
Here’s my snippet call:

[!MaxiGallery? &display=`embedded` &embedtype=`smoothgallery` &smoothgallery_fadeDuration=`900`&smoothgallery_showArrows=`true` &smoothgallery_showCarousel=`false` &smoothgallery_showInfopane=`true` &smoothgallery_embedLinks=`false` &smoothgallery_height=`470` &smoothgallery_width=`640` &keep_big_img=`true` &max_pic_size=`0` &smoothgallery_slideInfoZoneOpacity=`1` !]

Any ideas?

(Update) Based off a statement by doze in another topic, I got rid of the

&max_pic_size=`0`

bit from the call and still nothing.

Is the site online? could you give a link?

Does the smoothgallery demo site work for you with all browsers? http://smoothgallery.jondesign.net/showcase/gallery/

Be forgiving. It’s a work in progress.

And, yes, the demo site does work for me (at least in IE7 which is my biggest concern).

So, the div that holds the images didn’t have Layout (gotta love IE) but it does now and the images still aren’t loading. I’ll try anything else I can think of. But I’m kinda drawing blanks here.

[One More Update]
IE did kick these errors at me:

Line: 164
Char:4
Error: 'gallery' is undefined
Code:0

and

Line: 416
Char: 43
Error: Expected identifier, string or number
Code: 0

I have no idea what that means.

Yes, that’s your problem.. The line points to the smoothgallery initialization code:

	var myGallery = new gallery($('myGallery5'), {...

And IE is saying that it cannot find the "gallery" object. That object comes available from the included smooth gallery js file, so it seems that IE7 cannot find the included js files, but other browsers find them fine.

This is a long shot, but try changing your base href tag from:

<base href="http://www.anchordesigngroup.com/"></base>

to:

<base href="http://www.anchordesigngroup.com"></base>

Hey doze,
Thanks for the reply. The gallery still didn’t show.
Any other ideas?

I just hard coded the full url to the js and css files for smoothgallery (I mean, hey if we’re trying longshots, why not) and that was a no go.
Am still getting both error messages from IE, same as before.

The maxigallery js and css files are included twice on the <head>.. try taking the duplicates out..

EDIT: Also, which maxigallery version are you running? The smoothgallery seems to be v1.0.1. Try using the v0.6 test version of MaxiGallery from the sticky topic.. It has smoothgallery 2.0.

I’m going to go out on a limb here, doze, and say that you’re the most wonderful person in the world and I want to mother your children. This will be difficult, as I am a male and married to a jealous woman. But...I’ll think of something.
