No one is responding over at the smooth gallery forums..seems to be tough to find help over there.
If Anyone has gotten links to showup correctly in your image descriptions using the Smoothgallery and Maxi please let me know how!
Well.. What have you tried currently? At least you have to first take the :htmlent phx modifier out of maxigallery templates so that the html code doesn’t get mangled into html entities.. Have you done that?

Awesome Doze - figured it out. Took out the htmlent section from the <p> tag for smooth gallery in gallerypicturetpl.html and it looks to be good to go! Thanks SO MUCH for you help.
One last question - do you know of a way to control the opacity of the description text SEPARATELY from the opacity of the background the text sits on?
Look at maxigallery wiki page. In the parameters list, find the parameters that have "tpl" in them. There’s a description for each template that what’s it for and where is the default template.
The one you need to modify is galleryPictureTpl and at the top of the default template, there is a section for smoothgallery display type. In that section, you want to remove those :htmlent modifiers from the maxigallery.picture.title and maxigallery.picture.descr placeholders, because that modifier makes maxigallery turn all html code into html entities in title and description output.

Yep, good that you got it working.
For the description text opacity issue.. do you mean the text entry? They are just normal html elements, title is wrapped in h2 and description in p tags.
The css is in /assets/snippets/maxigallery/smoothgallery/css/jd.gallery.css
And the relevant parts:

So you can change the p color for example. If you want to add some opacity to the element itself, you need to dig in to smoothgallery js code, eg. /assets/snippets/maxigallery/smoothgallery/js/jd.gallery.js around line #540. It’s pretty self explanatory how to add opacity to the paragraph element by looking how it’s done to the info div there.
