smooth gallery with child galleries?

Ok 2 Q’s in one post

1. is it possible to get maxigallery to display childgalleries images as one gallery, ie all images from docs 1,2,3 in a single gallery VS a link to the gallery ID?
2. is it possible to get 2 &display parms? ie &display=`childgalleries,embedded` so we can use it with smoothgallery?


What I want to achieve is a ’master gallery’ displaying all images from X-Y gallery docs in a single smoothgallery style gallery.

1. Yes, see &gal_query_ids parameter and http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/MaxiGallery#Query_examples
2. The v0.6 test version has &childembedtype, see http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,24600.0.html

But, if you are using the &gal_query_ids parameter, you can use just &display and &embedtype

EDIT: or you can use the &childgalleries_ids and &childgalleries_level_limit parameters and &childembedtype=`smoothgallery`. See MaxiGallery wiki page for more info.

there is no way I can restrict the size for the images in this gallery correct?
i mean since the resizing is done in the upload I think the images must be same size as they in the gallery I query from right?

would be cool if we could use phpthumb to restrict the size per gallery.
because in my pages gallery I have the size set on 640x480 and in the smoothgallery I have the main container background image set on 500x350 and some images are breaking out.

You can use phpThumb PHx modifier with maxigallery. Just use it in maxigallery templates. You can get the PHx phpThumb modifier from resources repository.
