RTE in the description/title fields?

Is it possible to have the html in the title and description fields render rather than have the code displayed? For example if I put <strong>My Name</strong> in the description it renders as <strong>My Name</strong> rather than My Name.

The second part of the question is if it is possible to add a RTE to the description field?

May be it has to do with the phx-modifier :htmlent in the templates.

sure, you can add them to all textarea-fields.

Bruno17: yes the htmlent was the issue. It came to me shortly after I posted which is ironic since I previously had an issue with a typo in this exact modifier. I removed them and all is good, thanks.

as for the rte, I tried with the tiny editor following the steps used to add it in other snippets but the editor would not load I must be missing some key javascript. I am thinking of trying it with a jquery based editor since it will probably be much easier to setup and I do not need the resource browser interface.

I have not had any luck adding a RTE to the description field.

I found a jQuery powered light RTE and it loads fine and works great but the changes do not get recorded when saving the gallery. I am wondering if it is not letting MaxiGallery know that there has been any changes in the field due to the onKeyDown bit of JS in the template and jquery.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

If you have only one picture or not so much, I think it dosn’t matter, when you save all the fields and not only the modified ones.
It is only an Idea, I don’t know, if it will work.

Bruno17; yes this worked, thanks. This will eventually be a very large gallery, so I am concerned if this is a good idea. Can I limit the number of docs that are edited at one time?

ChuckTrukk: markitup looks great, and the media manager is awsome in the example. I wonder if this could be made into a module for modx as a tiny alternative and since it has so many flavors (html, markdown, bbcode, etc) it would be much more flexible. I see it has WP and Drupal extensions. Thanks for the tip.

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I just came accross markitup, and I have never been that excited about an editor !
I’d love to see a modx plugin for markitup !!!
