I’m a little confused with this need :
I set up MG to display on the same pages the thumbg list and the normal image too (see prvious post) and spiced up this with js and jQ to automatically fired the first image of the gallery at page loading. ok
But I’d like to recall with a Ditto list from the parent folder (category) all the first MG images associated to all the sub folder and actually stored into the ftp gallery/... directory
cat1
+---folder1 associated to MG xx
+---folder2 associated to MG yy
and so on
Not sure to be very clear...
As thos images are not in anyway store in any TV I dont see how to get them now (without having to add a new img TV and having to manually set up it’s src)

Do you need Ditto for this? You can use another MaxiGallery call, telling it which galleries you want displayed, with different parameters.
You can get the first image from a specified gallery with the following call: [!MaxiGallery? &gal_query_ids=`67` &limit=`1`!]
That would get the first picture from gallery id 67. Use that kind of call in the Ditto template and the id you get from Ditto’s [+id+] placeholder.

I just tried this and the MG call is not interpreted (the Ditto output contains the MG call as a text string) like this:
[!MaxiGallery? &gal_query_ids=`75` &limit=`1` !] where I was expecting its own output.
I probably missed or did not understood something ...?

There is a bug by desing in MODx that snippet calls inside each other needs to alter caching level..
Eg. You cannot have [!Snippet1? ¶m=`[!Snippet2!]`!] or [[Snippet1? ¶m=`[[Snippet2]]`]]
But you can have [!Snippet1? ¶m=`[[Snippet2]]`!] or [[Snippet1? ¶m=`[!Snippet2!]`]]
Also the level of document caching comes to play in this. Don’t remember the exact circumstances where the calls won’t work, but rule of thumb can be to always alter the caching level when snippets are called inside each other and in chunks.

oh yes I know this ..but I did not realized yet I call Ditto uncached too.
grrr..
Anyway I’ll be smarter next time (maybe!)
