Using Maxigallery / lightbox on existing set of images

I’ve got a set of images (thumbnails with links to the real-size pics) inside my page content. I was wondering if I could use MaxiGallery (actually ATM I just want to use lightbox) on the existing images.

I mean without it making a separate folder like it usually does. Currently I also do not need the management features (move pics around etc.) of MaxiGallery, just the lightbox effects&transitions.

You can use lightbox by yourself just fine.. just go here and follow the instructions http://www.digitalia.be/software/slimbox, or use what ever other lightbox clone..

Actually I was just looking for a temporary solution, because right now I don’t have the webspace to create several new ’maxigalleries’.

Seems like it will sort-of work when I give each link the attribute

rel="lightbox"

and put for example the following snippet in the page:

[[MaxiGallery? &display=`embedded` &embedtype=`slimbox` &pics_per_row=`3` &max_thumb_size=`110` &max_pic_size=`0` &thumb_use_dropshadow=`1`]]

I then get transitions and a ’close dialog’... no next&back buttons, but it’s better than nothing in the meantime.

That’s what I meant for you to do, but just without MaxiGallery.

E.g. add the rel="ligthbox" to each image link and then include slimbox and mootools js files to your site template <head>. You don’t need maxigallery at all, it just adds unnecessary overhead to your page rendering.

Oh sorry... I’m not used to setting this up and just starting out with modx, so I’m still a bit confused about things sometimes.
