I am using the smoothgallery option to create a slideshow in the masthead of a website, but i would like to share the same gallery across mulitple pages. I have two separate templates, one for the front page of the site and one for the inner pages. if i embed the maxigallery with the slideshow in the the front template and load up the images, then go to an inner page that is using a separate template that slideshow doesn’t have the images. it seems that what i need is a way in maxigallery to tell the template what gallery of images to use so that i can share the gallery across multiple templates/pages... is this possible?

Galleries in MaxiGallery are bound to documents. To see the pictures from another document, use &view_gallery=`document_id_here` parameter in your snippet call. If you want to see pictures from multiple documents, you can use the &gal_query_ids=`document,ids,here` paramater. You can check the available snippet parameters from MaxiGallery wiki page:
