Can this be done with Maxi Gallery

Hi

I am keen to try and create a gallery similar to the one shown on the following link - click on the gallery link first to see the gallery in action

If I was to use MaxiGallery to create something similar then i would need the following functionality;

Description Text to appear separate to the pictures
Next and Previous Links for the gallery pics

Clicking on the next and previous buttons would need to change the picture shown AND change the text description - Is this possible without including the text description as part of the gallery?

Ideally I would also like the thunbnails to appear as well as the larger image so the user could select a particular image to view - again doing this would need to change the text description

Hope this makes sense to someone - Any help would be greatly appreciated

The SmoothGallery display type in MaxiGallery is pretty similar, see this for an example. In the newest version of SmoothGallery, you can have the picture titles and descriptions to appear in a separate div. The newest version is integrated in in MaxiGallery SVN version.

You don’t need to modify any files (I hope so..). There’s these new parameters in the SVN version &smoothgallery_useExternalCarousel and &smoothgallery_carouselElement. The first one you should set to 1 and the second one to the ID of the element where you want the carousel to appear... Hmm.. wait.. no. Now I’m talking about the carousel (it shows the thumbnails), but you were asking for the picture titles and descriptions.. So scratch that.

Actually, I think you cannot have the picture titles / descriptions in an "external" div. SmoothGallery generates the picture title / description container as a div with a class "slideInfoZone". You can position that with css to be beside the picture. The default SmoothGallery css is in /assets/snippets/maxigallery/smoothgallery/css/jd.gallery.css.
