Childgallery display showing pictures

    Hello

    I have the fallowing architecture

    Photo Section
    2008 (Showing Childgalleries)
    Gallery 1 (Showing Childgalleries and pictures only inside Gallery 1)
    Sub Gallery 1 (Showing pictures)

    I’m trying to figure out why maxigallery is beahving this way.

    When I do the fallowing call in the Gallery 1 pages
    [!MaxiGallery? &childgalleries_ids=`78` &pics_per_row=`4` &display=`childgalleries` &childgalleries_level_limit=`1`!]


    My childgalleries are showing properly but there’s also the picture inside Gallery 1 that are showing up. I would like to be able to only list the chilgalleries under Gallery 1 and not the picture inside Gallery 1

    I’ve tried using an empty childgalleriesTpl and the picture inside Gallery 1 was still there while the Child galleries were not showing... So I really don’t know where to search !

    Under 2008 I would like only to show the child gallery since the picture inside 2008 is only to have a thumnail for 2008...

      Ok after spending the evening looking for a solution I found a solution but I doubt it’s a clean one...

      For some reason when I was calling a child gallery the whole gallery was showing so I change the tag to

      [!MaxiGallery? &childgalleries_ids=`71` &pics_per_row=`4` &display=`childgalleries` &childgalleries_level_limit=`1` &embedtype=`nopics`!]


      And I went in gallerypicturetpl.html and I changed the end of the file

      This
      	 	<img src="[(base_url)][+maxigallery.path_to_gal+]tn/tn_[+maxigallery.picture.filename+]" class="thumbnail" title="[+maxigallery.picture.title:htmlent+] [+maxigallery.strings.click_to_zoom+]" alt="[+maxigallery.picture.title:htmlent+] [+maxigallery.strings.click_to_zoom+]" />


      To this
      [+maxigallery.embedtype:isnot=`nopics`:then=`
	
	 	<img src="[(base_url)][+maxigallery.path_to_gal+]tn/tn_[+maxigallery.picture.filename+]" class="thumbnail" title="[+maxigallery.picture.title:htmlent+] [+maxigallery.strings.click_to_zoom+]" alt="[+maxigallery.picture.title:htmlent+] [+maxigallery.strings.click_to_zoom+]" />

      So now everything is working as I would like to...
      was there an easyer way to do this ??

        That’s a good way to implement it, if you want to re-use the &embedtype=`nopics` on many document..

        Other way would be to create a template chunk for the galleryOuterTpl and remove everything from the default template, except the childgallery parts. Then have in your snippet call &galleryOuterTpl=`chunkname` where "chunkname" is the name of your chunk that contains the custom galleryOuterTpl template.

        And you could move that [+maxigallery.embedtype:isnot=`nopics`:then=.... embedtype check that you did to the galleryOuterTpl for that matter.. so there won’t be any empty html elements.
