where are the thumbnail drop shadows gone?

Hi guys,

I added a new gallery to my site today and I can’t get the nice drop shadows like in older galleries... instead I just get a black border!

The snippet call goes like this:

I thought that upgrading to modx 0.9.6.1p2 would do the trick but nope...

Pictures where resized at 1024px before uploading...

Any ideas?

Are the shadow images in /assets/snippets/maxigallery/dropshadow folder?

It seems that the GD cannot merge the shadow pictures to the main image file..
