Pictures seem to have a random alignment

I just started working with the MaxiGallery, but I get some weird output. I uploaded a few pictures to see how it worked and everything seemed fine. I used this code
[[MaxiGallery]]
to get a simple view of my uploaded pictures.

Then I tried this: [[MaxiGallery? &thumb_use_dropshadow=`1`]] but I did not see any difference.

The following I Ctrl-C from, I believe Wiki:
[[MaxiGallery? &display=`embedded` &embedtype=`slimbox` &pics_per_row=`3` &max_thumb_size=`110` &max_pic_size=`0` &thumb_use_dropshadow=`1`]]

As a result, the pictures I uploaded now seemed to display on random positions on my webpage. Not in rows and colums, but spread throughout page. Trying to fix this, I removed each parameter one by one to see where the problem would lie. But now I’m back to just [[MaxiGallery]] and the pictures are still randomly positioned.

Is there anything i’m missing here? Did I do something (wrong), that makes MaxiGallery behave like this?

The dropshadow and size of the thumbnails are done on upload; once the images are uploaded changing that in the snippet call won’t change the already-existing thumbnails.

As far as positioning, that needs to be handled in your CSS file.
