MaxiGallery, Slimbox and Safari

There is a problem with the MaxiGallery and using a Slimbox call with Safari: the image will appear, but the screen stays dark and you can’t navigate between photos. I looked into this and it seems like the problem is with the z-index on a couple of divs in the Slimbox CSS. I changed the CSS:

Previously the CSS z-index was like 99999999 or something. This worked great on my default install: the slimbox works just as well as it does in Firefox. But changing the z-index is not working on my real site in Safari? It does work in Firefox though.

Other than these two z-index changes is there anything I can try to get this to work in Safari?

This is the call I am using for the child galleries in question:

[!MaxiGallery? &display=`embedded` &embedtype=`slimbox` &pics_per_row=`3` &thumb_use_dropshadow=`1`!]

I think I found it: unchecking the Cacheable box in the sub gallery page settings seems to fix the issue.

I think I need to do more reading on the Cacheable box and Snippet call relationship: I still don’t have my head wrapped around this...

If a page is cacheable, it is generated then cached. Next time it’s just loaded from the cache. Any snippets tagged with [!...!] are re-tagged as [[...]] and the whole document (taken from cache or newly generated) is run through the parser again, this time also parsing the re-tagged snippet calls.

So all snippets with [!...!] tags are evaluated on the second pass through the parser, whether the document is cached or not.

In this version, snippets are run with the PHP eval() function.
