Snippet call confusion...

Hi All,

I am brand new to MODx and am trying to figure out many things...

I am messing around with MaxiGallery. I am building a community site that will have a Gallery page for members to create their own photo galleries. I got MaxiGallery running. I have a test page with three galleries set up. When I go to one of these galleries and click on one of the thumbnails the photo looks like it will open with a lightbox effect but hesitates and then will open the photo on a blank page?

This is the snippet call I am using: [[MaxiGallery? &display=`embedded` &embedtype= `slimbox` &pics_per_row=`3` &max_thumb_size=`110` &max_pic_size=`0` &thumb_use_dropshadow=`1`]]

I found this on another thread. Where do newbies get these snippet calls? Is there any guide that explains how to create custom galleries and set preferences or snippets etc? I know nothing about PHP (a book is on its way). The MODx forums are helpful but its hunt and peck and hope the info is not outdated. I do find chunks of code but find very little explanation of "how to make it work" etc...

I tried all of those snippets.

They work fine on Firefox on my Mac (Tiger 10.4) but they all have issues with Safari: the lightbox will stay dim and the prev/next nav does not work or clicking on the thumbnail will open the photo on a blank page.

I am testing this locally on my Mac using MAMP with the latest version of MODx and MaxiGallery.

I think I found the solution with the Safari issue.

I switched over to the slimbox module and it did the same thing. Changing the z-index on a couple of he declarations fixed this...
