MaxiGallery works intermittently

I really have no explanation for this. Here’s what I’m using:

ModX 0.9.6.1
MG 0.5.2
PHP 5
Linux

My problem is that sometimes MaxiGallery will work and sometimes it won’t. When logged into the manager I can manage pictures on the front-end or back-end -- SOMETIMES! What happens sometimes is when I push "Manage Pictures" the button disappears and goes back to normal view. So, when I’m in the manager I have to hit "Save and Refresh" to get the button back, but it disappears again as soon as I click on it.

Then, without any warning - it starts and stops working. I haven’t yet been able to figure out what’s going on when it happens. I haven’t been able to reproduce this either. It just works or it doesn’t and there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason.

Is it a sessions problem? Is it a new issue? Could it be Domain/IP related? Those are the only things I can come up with. It will work/not work on IE7 mostly, but it’s also done it in FF, Camino, and Safari - both on the Mac and PC. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Have you made sure that the snippet is running uncached?

Yes, the MG calls in the document content area are uncached. But, I have some running through Ditto that are running cached inside a chunk. But, the problem is intermittent and happens to all the calls - cached or uncached.

Well it sounds very much like a caching issue.

When the cache is cleared (by doing "Save and Refresh"), the snippet will run one time when the page is accessed the first time, and if that time you are logged in to the manager, the manage button will be visible. But then when you click it, it won’t do anything because the snippet output is cached and not actually run.

OK, well, I will go through and test it. But, isn’t the rule of thumb that if the call is inside a chunk you call it cached and the page is uncached?
