Blank Page in Maxigallery after uploading site

    Hi,

    I’ve seen a lot of similar posts but don’t think any answer my problem, which is when I add a new image to one of my galleries and then press ’upload pictures’, I get a blank page with the URL of my gallery in the address bar. When I refresh, it loads the existing gallery as it should, but without the new thumbnail. This has only started happening once I uploaded the site to a live server - the same gallery on my local (both Mac and Win) server continues to work perfectly. I have tried setting permissions of everything to 777 and get nothing, but when it is set at 755 I get a parse error page. The pic is actually being uploaded to the galleries folder, but no thumbnail is being generated.

    After reading other posts, I might add that no other databases are referenced by my pages and I have also tried a tiny pic (to see if it is memory related?). The site was developed using MODx 0.9.6 and MaxiGallery 0.5.1, but the site was upgraded to MODx 0.9.6.1 when it was uploaded.

    Can anyone help me out here? The client loved the gallery when it was being developed, but it’s like trying to fight off a lion now. If there is any more info I can supply, please ask. Thanks.

      Does your remote server have the GD libraries compiled into PHP?

      In the Manager, there’s a phpinfo call at Reports->System info, view.

        It seems it doesn’t... I didn’t set the server up myself so do I need to relay this point to the ISP?

          Yes, you do. Well, I think so, anyway... I’m not the MaxiGallery expert. You could try posting in the MaxiGallery forum, you might get a quicker response.

            Yes, you need the GD libraries to be enabled to use MaxiGallery

                Can anyone tell me whether MaxiGallery can use ImageMagick instead of GD library? - its the ISP’s preferred option.

                    OK, thanks, GD is all installed and the gallery is up and running perfectly now. Thanks so much for your help.
