You have not understood the posts correctly, what you need to do is this:
Create a new document that is used to manage the galleries.. it should have the same call that is in your gallery pages but add &is_target=`1` to the parameters, eg:
[!MaxiGallery? &display=`embedded` &embedtype=`lightboxv2` &pics_in_a_row=`3` &max_thumb_size=`110` &max_pic_size=`0` &thumb_use_dropshadow=`1` &is_target=`1`!]
Then add &manage_target=`DOCUMENT_ID_HERE_TO_THE_SEPARATE_PICTURE_MANAGEMENT_DOCUMENT` parameter to the gallery page calls and you can remove &manageOuterTpl=`` &managePictureTpl=`` &manageUploadTpl=`` &manage_gallery=`` &manage_target=`` &is_target=`1` from the sidebar call. Just leave the &manageButtonTpl=`` so the sidebar call do not show the manage button.

Thanks for solving that php error!
However, I expirience another problem: On IE 6, only the thumbnails and the first picture are displayed.
If you click on one of the other thumbnails to enlarge them - nothing gets displayed...Any ideas? Works fine in latest firefox!

Enable script debugging in IE to see what it doesn’t like in the javascript code, or give a link to the site.
