I’m trying to create a custom imagemask for the MaxiGallery snippet. Actually I only want square thumbnail-images with round edges. I created a 400x400px png file with Photoshop. Black background, white quadrate (with round edges). Unfortunately it doesn’t work. The imagemasks that come with MaxiGallery work, but when I put my custom mask in the same directory and want to use it, the whole process takes forever - even with only one picture - and nothing happens.
Anyone an idea where to find more information regarding image masks?
Ehm... the solution is called ...alpha channel.
PNG does not support alpha channels, the way that TIFF & PSD do.
PNG does support TRANSPARENCY, which is similar but different, but which does not work with MaxiGallery.
Anyone know the nitty gritty of image masks?

Yes, PNG supports alpha, but MaxiGallery does not seem to interpret it correctly.
What is the underlying code in MG which processes the image mask? Does it use some standard server-side function? Maybe I could look up the specs on that function.
