Selecting several single images

Hello there,

Well, I don’t have something like a problem, however I wanted to ask if I’m doing right or maybe thinking too complicated.

I got different galleries on a lot pages, but in end effect i got a table and need only one or two images each <td>. So this is the way i solved it:
First, i include the normal MG call:

Second, i place these calls where i want the single images to appear:

Third, I delete the first call again, so that only the single images are visible.

Well, this works, but with a few side effects:

• I can’t edit the images afterwards cause the manage button is gone.
• If I insert the first call again go the the button, I get hell a lot of these management areas because of all the other, single calls and the editing doesn’t work somehow.

So, my question is, is there a more elegant way to solve my problem? Like maybe putting the ’main’ gallery with all pictures hidden, that these pictures can’t be seen by the end user (tried, but failed with that) and that there is only one administration form despite many MG calls?

You could use just one call with &limit=`2` to get only two pictures and then in picture management, use the "position" field to get some specific pictures first in the gallery. Or if there is some reason why you cannot use the position field, add &limit=`1` for the first call and an empty galleriPictureTpl, so there won’t be any pictures rendered, but manage button will be visible.

But if I use ur method with the position field, I will only get two or whatever pictures.
But I do not need only this two (say) pictures, but additionally on an other place two different pictures out of the same gallery on the very same page and so on ...
So I think this won’t work when I need more single image on different places on the page?

Yeah, it’s best to use the picture id querying then like you did, and do the empty galleryPictureTpl for the call where you want only manage pictures button to show up.

okey, got that.

But there seems to be a problem with editing the images afterwards.
I got my standard call and, say, about four of these:

[!MaxiGallery? &pic_query_ids=`1,2` &display=`embedded` &embedtype=`slimbox`!]

The manage button is still there, working, but if I want to edit the title or the description, changes won’t save!
As I said, because of five or whatever MG-Calls there are 5 or whatever "management-areas" behind the button ...

Deleting an image works, uploading a new one not really, got a prase error!

Is there a solution for this?

You need to use the &manage_target parameter with the snippet call that shows the manage pictures button to make the picture management in separate document.
