The Screen goes dark but I get no image when using Maxigallery with Slimbox. Any ideas?
you have probably a css collision on the page.. try removing stuff from your site template css file to see what causes it..

Thanks for the help doze! I completely removed my css file. Now I get the black. The pic and controls are under the black screen and the controls are not accessible. I am developing locally on my powerbook using MAMP. Any ideas?
hmm.. could it be the browser that you use? although, slimbox should be pretty well cross-browser compatible..
anyways, it sounds like the z-index is too low in the picture container div in slimbox css.. but it should be ok if you have not modified it.. there must be still some css that messes it up.. or maybe you have incompatible doctype in your template?

The only css I can find left on the site is the modx manager css. I am using Safari. I tested in Firefox and it worked. Opera just gave me the pic in a window. Netscape gave me the pic but no black screen.
Finally! It was the z-index. I simply changed it to 888 for #lbOverlay and 999 for #lbCenter, #lbBottomContainer. Thanks for the help.
good that you got it resolved.. really strange though that the original slimbox css values did not work for you.. maybe the 999999999 is too high number, but I haven’t heard any problems from anyone else and it has worked fine on my environments..
