Maxigallery Oddities in IE6 and IE7, but not in FF

I am running MODx 0.9.6 rev 2600 with MaxiGallery 0.5.1.

On that page the footer looks fine in IE6 and IE7. However, when you go to one of the Child Galleries, the footer doesn’t reach the bottom? I tried searching for this problem and saw some suggestion of using "clear:both" which doesn’t seem to work, and also some problem with the :hover selector. However, I am not exactly sure what to do with that one. However, if you haven’t scrolled down at all, and click one the thumbnails, and then exit out of it, the footer is now properly aligned???

Also, I have noticed in all browsers (IE6, IE7, and FireFox) this strange behavior that when you scroll to the bottom of the page, and then click on one of the bottom thumbnails, and then scroll down some more to view the entire picture. Then click to exit while scrolled down that far, the body of the page has been extended further than it needs to fit the thumbnails, and doesn’t revert back once you exit out of the mask.

I guess this is not a MODx issue. MaxiGallery includes a whole bunch of open-source CSS/Ajax gallery scripts. See bottom of this page for links:

I’d start first with checking each of these links and their demos if you encounter the same problems there as well.
Then you can start to isolate the problem. Maybe the original authors have published updates which are newer than the ones used in the MaxiGallery package?

I know I’ve had similar problems with some of those popular lightbox galleries in the past. Unfortunately, they’re not all that cross-browser friendly, as a matter of fact.

I haven’t figured out what the problem is with the CSS, but that has to be on the right track. When I switch the gallery type from "slimbox" to any of the other galleries, it doesn’t exhibit that behavior.
