Disable thumbnail creation

Hi all,

I am starting a new site for an illustrator and would like to use Maxi Gallery for his portfolio. Just have a couple of questions:

1. Is it possible to disable the thumbnail creation and use my own. Or, better still, is it possible to not resize the uploaded image for the thumbnail but mask an area outside of a set dimension, say 100px x 100px, whereby, everything outside of this area will be hidden.

2. Is it possible to not resize the main larger images, so that I can do this resizing in photoshop before hand and not have any kind of compresion/resizing?

Here is the layout I am trying to achieve:



So thumbnails down the left, main on the right. On entering the page, the first in the list of thumbnails should load.

You mean to crop the thumbnail from the main picture in given position? no. But you can use &max_thumb_size=`100x100`.

&max_pic_size=`0` disables the resizing, same for other pic sizes (thumbnail, big pic)

Just to clarify, can I have a separate image for the thumbnail than I do for the main, that way I can crop the thumbnails as I see fit in photoshop and upload two images, one for the thumbnail and one for the main?

No, you would need to replace the tn_<picturefile> files in /galleries directory manually.
