Ok, I have searched and I’m not sure how to do this.
I have created a document called Gallery for my testing site. I want to be able to create new documents under it for events/ incidents for our fire department so that I can put the photos of them in each new document.
1. How can I get MaxiGallery (or MaxiGallerySolo) to show one picture from each gallery document on the main Gallery page so that people can then go to that specific photo gallery page for that event/incident?
2. Do I need to create a new document for each incident /event to hold those photos specific to that incident/event?
Any help would be appreciated!

yes, with its own MaxiGallery-Call on each Page would be best when using MaxiGallerySolo i guess.
But you could also work with multiple MaxiGallery-Calls on one Document, the Problem i see in this Case is
tthe Call of MaxiGallerySolo, because that works with Doc-IDs for showing a Picture out of a Gallery.

Instead of using maxigallerysolo, you could use the childgalleries display mode in the main document. In v0.5 betas you can template the output of childgalleries to have longtitle/pagetitle or any field.
