I have a site I am building that is very heavy in Podcasts and Video. I would like to change the path in the manager (for the template variables) to point to a folder in the root area of the site - either video or podcasts. I want the client to be able to ftp the items (to a folder in the root is easier) and then find them easily when in the manager.
Can anyone explain how to do this?

How about using the assets/media folder? Then the media button in the TinyMCE rich text editor’s menu will show them (can upload from there as well).

Isn’t that where it goes anyway? I’ll probably keep it as it is. It’s just easier for the client and assistants to find the folders if they are in the root, especially since the podcasts and videos are large files and will probably be ftp’d.

You should be able to override the default path settings in the individual user’s settings.
