"Latest News & Events" section - Need to autocycle between posts (fade in&out)

I’m not the best at describing this, so maybe you guys can help me...

I want to add a box near the top of my page just below the header & navigation that fades between a set of pre-selected blog entries. Some of the blog entries contain photos, links, and signup forms...

Is it correct to say that MODx already has a feature like this built in? If so how do I use it?

Otherwise: Could you recommend a plugin or solution for this?
