Looking for ideas for an artist website

Hm, I’m looking for some mental input for displaying images for a website (a painter and artist)
Maxigalery is not quite that thing I’m looking for.

I’m not looking for a reddy to use-solution, it’s more like collecting ideas for:
- displaying his images and some additional infos
- editing and updating these images
- grouping of images

Any references are apreciated.
